[…] Mandalas–Finding some clarity On April 22, 2013 · Leave a Comment Today, well actually yesterday, I promised myself to take some time to be still and clear my head. I am faced with yet another fork in the road and am very ambivalent about the choice I need to make. I am having trouble using my intuition as my guide. Hearing one of my favorite songs repeatedly in the car, “Where the Streets Have No Name” by U2, sums it up for me. This new road I long to embark on is just that, new. How do I know it will bring me joy? How do I know this is what I want? I don’t even know what I want anymore. The road ahead has no name and now I must give it a name. When I was young I knew what I wanted and had a clearer picture in my head of which direction to go. I’ve reached my goals and now my life is a blank slate waiting to be filled by my undiscovered inner desires and passions–yet I don’t know what they are. I need to stop long enough to listen to my soul and really “hear” what it has been trying to tell me. Mandalas have been very therapeutic for me, a form of meditation, that even as a child, has helped calm my mind and connect to that special place in my heart. The repetitive shapes, geometric designs and the soothing flow of color on paper brings me back to Me.
